What is Cold Applied Plastic?
Cold Applied Plastic (CAP) is a high-performance road marking material designed for areas that experience heavy traffic, constant turning movements, and high wear. Unlike conventional road marking paint, CAP is a two-component system that chemically cures into a thick (2–3 mm), extremely durable marking that can last several years. We use premium Geveko materials for our CAP applications.
For commercial and industrial properties across South East Queensland, CAP is commonly used where standard paint would wear away too quickly, reducing maintenance costs and improving long-term visibility.
Chlorinated Rubber vs. CAP
While CAP provides the ultimate durability for heavy-duty environments, Chlorinated Rubber line marking paint is widely regarded as one of the best all-round solutions for general commercial and industrial projects. It offers excellent resistance to vehicle traffic, fast drying times (touch dry in minutes), and sharp, professional finishes.
At Australian Marking Services, we recommend selecting the line marking system based on expected traffic levels:
- Chlorinated Rubber: Best overall value for commercial car parks, warehouses, factories, and industrial sites.
- Water-Based Paint: Ideal where low odour and environmentally conscious application are priorities.
- Cold Applied Plastic (CAP): The premium option for maximum durability in heavy-duty, high-wear areas like intersections and loading zones.
