Core Linemarking Services in Brisbane & Gold Coast
Australian Marking Services delivers professional line marking across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Ipswich and the wider South East Queensland region. Our crews mark everything from small strata car parks to large warehouse floors and civil pavement projects, always working to the relevant Australian Standards.
Car park line marking
Car park line marking in Brisbane covers new layouts and re-marks for retail, commercial, medical and body corporate car parks. We set out bay numbering, directional arrows, pedestrian crossings, loading zones and accessible bays to AS/NZS 2890.1, with disabled parking marked to AS/NZS 2890.6. Clear, compliant bay layouts maximise parking capacity and reduce the risk of council compliance notices.
Warehouse and factory floor marking
Warehouse line marking in Brisbane separates pedestrians from forklifts and mobile plant using clearly defined safety walkways, exclusion zones, forklift lanes and pallet storage areas. Markings follow AS 1318 industrial safety colour coding and the Work Health and Safety Act, helping facilities in Yatala, Wacol and the TradeCoast precinct keep staff safe and pass WorkSafe audits.
Roads, shared zones and civil pavement
For private roads, access ways and civil pavement, we apply centrelines, edge lines, stop bars, give-way lines and pedestrian crossings to AS 1742 and the Queensland MUTCD. Reflective glass beads can be broadcast onto wet markings for improved night-time visibility.
Shot blasting and line removal
Before any re-mark, old or non-compliant lines often need to come out first. We offer line marking removal in Brisbane by grinding, shot blasting and chemical stripping, leaving a clean, properly prepared surface so the new marking adheres correctly and there's no double-line effect.
Sports courts and multi-court stencilling
We mark tennis, netball, basketball and multi-purpose courts for schools and clubs, with precise sport-specific dimensions and clean colour separation between overlapping court layouts. See our school & sports court marking page for more.
Linemarking Paint Systems: Durability & Material Comparison
Choosing the right line marking material depends on traffic volume, surface type, budget and how long the marking needs to last. We don't claim every system suits every job — the right choice depends on the site. These are the main systems we work with:
Chlorinated rubber and waterborne acrylics
Chlorinated rubber and quality waterborne acrylics are the most common general-purpose line marking paints. They dry fast, produce sharp line edges and are cost-effective for standard car park re-marks and lower-traffic areas. Waterborne paints are low-odour and easier to clean up, which suits enclosed or environmentally sensitive sites. Under heavy traffic or harsh UV they typically need refreshing every one to two years.
Two-pack epoxy and polyurethane coatings
Two-pack epoxies and polyurethanes offer much better abrasion resistance and longevity, making them a strong choice for warehouse floors, factory safety zones and high-wear commercial car parks. Epoxies can be formulated with anti-slip aggregate for areas where slip resistance matters. They cost more upfront but last considerably longer than standard paint.
Thermoplastic and cold applied plastic
Thermoplastic is heat-applied and forms a thick, durable marking suited to high-traffic roadways and intersections. Cold applied plastic (CAP) cures chemically into a 2–3 mm thick marking that resists tyre scuffing and can last several years, making it ideal for stop bars, give-way lines and heavy-duty industrial areas. Both cost more than paint but deliver the lowest whole-of-life cost where wear is severe.
Australian Standards Compliance Guide
Line marking in commercial and industrial settings isn't optional decoration — it's tied to enforceable standards through development approval conditions. The key standards that apply to our work include:
- AS/NZS 2890.1 — off-street car parking, covering bay dimensions, aisle widths and circulation for car parks.
- AS/NZS 2890.6 — accessible (disabled) parking design and marking, including shared zones and the International Symbol of Access.
- AS 1742.2 — traffic control devices for roadways, including line colours, widths, arrows and placement.
- AS 1318 & AS 1319 — industrial safety colour codes and safety signs for warehouse and factory floor marking.
We work to these standards as a baseline and can provide a written compliance statement on completion. The specific requirements that apply depend on the project, the surface and the local council — we'll confirm what's relevant for your site when we quote. We don't guarantee certification or compliance for every possible scenario without reviewing the site; requirements vary by project.
